Counseling Center Personal Information Policy

The Counseling Center at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology ensures the privacy of personal information and the rights and interests of users under the Protection of Personal Information Act. The following policies have been established to satisfactorily solve user difficulties regarding personal information. This policy will take effect starting December 29, 2011.

Article 1 (Objective of Personal Information Processing)
The Counseling Center at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology processes personal information for the following objectives. Processed information will not be used for any other purpose than the stated objective.

Service Provided
Personal information is processed with the objectives of identifying and contacting users and providing services.

Article 2 (Items of Personal Information Processing)
The Counseling Center at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology processes and collects items of personal information in order to provide various services, such as individual counseling, psychological test, and group counseling.

Items of Personal Information
Name, date of birth, gender, country of origin, academic status, address, cell phone number, email address, KAIST identification number, and private information you share with your counselor

Article 3 (Personal Information Processing and Retention Period)
Personal information is retained for 10 years.

Article 4 (Rights to Information Owner)
The items of personal information described in Article 2 are required for the KAIST Counseling Center to provide services. Refusal to provide the following consent will affect your eligibility for receiving services at the KAIST Counseling Center.
